Smelling Flowers

Jayling got her first taste of smelling flowers at Flower World. We searched the 60+ acre nursery and couldn't find many flowers in bloom for the fall time and as a result almost got locked in when they closed. Some flower world.........but it's still one of our favorite places....J

Sammamish Sunset

Starting off with Bamboo Gardens in Redmond, Jayling was dwarfed by giant 50 ft bamboos and lush vegetation. Good thing she slept well in her stroller through the tour because when she gets older I will expect her to want us to find the pandas. :)

A quick break at a nearby Starbucks was suppose to relieve us from the hot weather, but this Starbucks had the worst air conditioning. We decided to have iced drinks. We then hurried back into our car and turned the A/C back on. Jayling agreed :)

Lake Sammamish State Park was the place to be at sunset. As the day ended, the reflection of the sun waning on the lake soothed Jayling to sleep as we strolled the park.

Salmon Surfing

The Issaquah Salmon Hatchery was just splendid. September being the beginning of the salmon returning to spawn revealed large 40 pound salmon in the shallow 2 foot deep Issaquah Creek. All the Chinook and Coho were home at the hatchery and the thousands of ready to mate fish were full of energy and jumping out of the water.

Slipping out to the Great Outdoors

Jayling is enjoying her trips outdoors. She naps well during stroller rides and likes to stare at strangers in restaurants :)

After dim sum today, we went to Bellevue Botanical Gardens. Jayling was quite comfy in her stroller as several strangers along the path greeted her with excitement. Grandpa and Grandma were amazed with the tall Douglas Firs. Stacie pondered picking the ripe apples teasing her from the very top of the 10 foot canopy.

6 weeks old!

Jayling is 6 weeks old and ready to go about town. We've been taking her on daily walks/tours around town.

Her check up with the Pediatrician verified Jayling is quite tall, being in the 75th-90th percentile. Her weight at birth was in the 25th percentile and she has continued to grow at that same rate. She is almost 9 pounds now! We think she will grow tall and slim!! The round baby face with full cheeks and big eyes are just mesmerizing to look at.

Zen Garden and the Muk

Zen Garden dim sum was quite exciting for Jayling as she got good glimpses of many strangers.

Since the day was warm, we headed to the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival where Jayling made her first visit to the beach front.

30 days

Jayling is now 30 days old and we had a celebration for that milestone at the house. We had some prayers in the morning and Grandma and Aunt Michelle prepared a lunchtime feast for guests and family. As the 50+ guests nibbled on roasted pork, duck, sweet rice, eggrolls, spring rolls, noodles, Asian seafood salad, and fruits, they were able to sneak in photos with Jayling. This celebration was topped off with Jayling’s 2-tiered Green Tea and Mocha Hello Kitty Chinese Cake for dessert. Friends and family reveled in Jayling’s ability to stay awake and keep awake while meeting them. Jayling had a photo shoot with her new playmates, children of our good friends present at the party including Nadya who flew into town from Eastern Idaho with her parents just for this special occasion.
The photo here shows how exhausted she was at the end of the party :)
